Sunday Watercolors: Wild Animals

It's Sunday and I'm here to share some watercolors with you:

Animals are fascinating to paint - You have to look so closely at what  they actually look like you discover/notice  a lot. THe same with color - who would think of using yellow on the rhionses' backs - but if you look at the picture closely you will see that the colors - in that light and in that place- were actually ranging from yellow, redish, grey, some green tints all the way to the expected greys and blacks. I can't really remember but I think I used just red and green to create the greys in both the pictures. I'll share some fun blending techniques/exercises  with you when I get the time!

If you want to see more of my watercolors you can either click the "My Watercolors" button in the top list or in my Watercolors file on Pinterest; http://www.pinterest.com/peppermint42/watercolors/

 (OBS - the paintings there are not only by me, though I wish because I've collected som favorites)

Have a great day, hugs, Karin

Sunday Watercolors - A Rabbit and a Dog!

It's Sunday and I'm here to share another watercolor with you:

The second one is more of a sketch - I'm still working on loosing up my painting, but don't want to waste my expensive paper while practising - think you can tell the quality difference just by looking at how differently the paint behaves/glowes in these two paintings.

If you want to see more of my watercolors you can either click the "My Watercolors" button in the top list or in my Watercolors file on Pinterest; http://www.pinterest.com/peppermint42/watercolors/

You Brighten My Day; #Watch box - magnet"

I was inspired by the challenge Upcycle/ Recycle challenge at A blog named Hero and the "Anything goes" challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks and the Cutting Edge challenge (see inspiration pic below) . I was also inspired by the "Anything goes challenge at PaperSmooches SPARKS I turned a matchbox into a little   "watch box" refridgerator magnet. I stamped the images on shrink plastic, colored them, diecut them and put them in the oven. Then I played around with them to create this little miniature scene for my son Ted ;

 Of course I want to take the chance to tell you about the challenge we have at the Inspiration Journal called In disguise - where we challenge you to turn an item into something new. All of the supplies I used for this project can be found at ;  Inspiration Emporium. You can win 50 usd to spend in the store - YAY!!!
