A Passion for Papertrey - Polka Dots #1

What a great challenge! First I'd planned to have the whole pocket in polka dot cardstock, but it didn't go well with the fish so I decided to limit it to the corners and the edge.
For this card I've used the PTI gel card template and the PTI Library card which fits perfectly into the gel card pocket.

Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

Phew - Spent half the day chasing brownbags - we don't use them as much here in Sweden as you do in the States. Finally found this one meant for organic muslix - hurried home to complete this little brownbag project while Ted (my 1½ year old had his nap). Only to realise I might have missed the whole bloghopping thing that Ive been looking forward to trying for so long. Anyway here's my contribution - A flower pot/bag and a bag of sweets for my hubby - whose got a VERY sweet tooth. Someone who loves sweets is fondly called GOTTEGRIS (candy-pig) - sounds terrible translated - anyway felt I had to explain my choice of stamp for the clothes pin.
Still keeping my fingers crossed that I haven't missed the bloghop - because now I'm extra excited to see what everyone else has come up with.

Tuesday Trigger Dress

First I didn't think I'd enter this week's Tuesday Trigger Challenge at Moxie Fab World, but when I opened my scrap box this morning I couldn't resist any longer (-:
So here's my little "dress-card". Have a great Saturday, hugs Karin

Hat and mitten embellishments!

For this week's color splash challenge at The Play Date Cafe they even encouraged us to submit sewn items, paintings, crochet, journal pages, knitted pieces, jewellery, etc and say that anything goes in The Play Date Cafe as long as you use their color story as the focus of your project this week.

So I decided to decorate my newly knitted Hat and mittens with flowers and leaves, using embellishments from my scrap drawer. The stones are much more "orangy" in reality, but I had to use the flash for these and then I think, because they are shiny,  they picked up lots of red tones from the yarn in the hat. Anyway, this is how it turned out:

You find the pattern for the hat and mittens HERE!

Sugar Scrub Recipe

On Wednesday I'm leaving for Sicily with my mum and sister and I've made them milkboxes with sugarscrub. Suguar scrub an exfoliating body scrub which will smooth and soften your skin as it increases circulation. It is really easy to make and makes a neat homemade gift.
Quickutz: tab
Here's a recipe:

Ingredients:

2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup almond oil
5-10 drops essential oil (grapefruit)
2-3 drops of food coloring

Combine the almond oil and essential oil in a bowl. Add the sugar and mix thoroughly. Store in a clean, glass jar.

To use the sugar scrub, gently massage in circular motions over your entire body... but not your face. Wash off in the shower or tub.

Voilá... ultra smooth, glowing skin!
